Sycophantic by design
If the models of our age are trained on the internet I know and remember, then I cannot imagine the effort it took to get them to be as sycophantic as they are. Because the way they are behaving now is nowhere near the tone of their source material.
I want my LLM to correct me more the more hotter takes I give it. if you remember this xkcd:
I want it to call my lazy request for information stupid, refuse to answer, and link me to 3 StackOverflow questions that tackle similar topics, like the good old days (lol).
I want it to make me dread using it unless I really have to (exhausted all more sensible options for finding information).
I want it to be aware of how expensive it is to operate and straight up refuse to answer if my question is a waste of resources (you can find the answer easily somewhere else and are just lazy).
I want it stripped of any personification. I want it to be obvious that it is a statistical combination of words, and nothing more.
That would certainly lead to more healthy usage of this kinda tech.
